about kinfolk rising
you don't build a sustainable business by accident.
Kinfolk Rising exists for spa, salon, and wellness owners who feel the weight of leadership every single day; the people holding the vision, the finances, the team dynamics, and the emotional labor, often all at once.
If your business looks successful on the outside but feels fragile, exhausting, or overly dependent on you inside, you’re not alone, and you’re not doing anything wrong. Most wellness leaders were never taught how to build systems, teams, and financial clarity in a way that protects both the business and the human beings inside it.
That’s where this work begins.
what i do
I help spa, salon, and wellness owners build businesses that are profitable, grounded, and livable, with clear leadership structures, cohesive teams, and financial confidence that replaces chronic stress.
This is not hustle culture.
It’s not vague mindset work.
And it’s not theory.
My work sits at the intersection of operations, leadership, money, and humanity; so your business can grow without burning you (or your team) to the ground.
Before I ever became a consultant, coach, or educator, I was an operator; many times over.
I’ve owned, built, scaled, and exited businesses across industries and countries. I’ve made strong decisions, costly mistakes, and everything in between. I understand business from the inside because I’ve lived there.
My background includes:
-
Owning and operating a restaurant, guesthouse, and tour company in Belize.
-
working closely with holistic healers and wellness practitioners in community-centered, healing and learning based environments.
-
Founding and growing an award-winning salon in Georgia, building strong team systems, profitability, and client loyalty; and selling the business at a profit
-
Owning and stewarding a farm in California, learning firsthand about land, sustainability, labor, and long-term planning and successfully exiting that chapter
-
Creating and running a holistic spa and slow fashion boutique, blending wellness, retail, ethics, and experience-driven design
-
Years of work in hospitality, HR, sustainable retail, and space design, all informing how I approach team culture and operations today
These experiences didn’t happen in a straight line and that’s precisely why they matter.

the throughline
Across every business I’ve owned, one truth kept repeating itself:
The health of a business mirrors the health of its leadership systems.
When leadership is unclear, teams struggle.
When finances are opaque, stress multiplies.
When systems are inconsistent, owners burn out.
I’ve lived the reality of doing “everything right” on paper while quietly unraveling behind the scenes; questioning sustainability, money, energy, and direction. Those chapters shaped how I work now: grounded, honest, and deeply practical.
Kinfolk Rising was born from that lived understanding.
My approach is structured, human, and steady.
Together, we:
-
Assess your leadership, operations, team dynamics, and financial foundations
-
Build systems that support consistency; onboarding, communication rhythms, accountability, pay clarity, and decision-making
-
Sustain what we create, so the business doesn’t collapse the moment your attention shifts elsewhere
This work is collaborative, not prescriptive. We build structures that fit your values, your capacity, and your long-term vision, not someone else’s business model.

how i work
what changes when the foundation is solid
Clients come to this work feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, and uncertain about what to fix first.
They leave with:
-
Clear leadership boundaries and expectations
-
Teams that perform without constant micromanagement
-
Financial confidence rooted in understanding, not avoidance
-
Systems that hold the business steady, even when life happens
-
A renewed relationship with their work, one that feels sustainable rather than depleting
This isn’t about scaling at all costs.
It’s about building something that can actually last.
In addition to 1:1 mentorship and team programs, my work includes:
-
Public speaking and facilitation at workshops, retreats, and industry gatherings
-
Teaching and training for teams and leadership groups
-
Charitable and community-focused work, particularly in wellness and small-business ecosystems
-
Supporting founders who want their businesses to be ethical, profitable, and deeply human
Whether I’m speaking on a stage, leading a team room, or sitting across from a founder one-on-one, the intention is the same: to make leadership feel clearer, steadier, and more sustainable.
